Introducing Velo: Speciality Coffee, Backed by Liquidline
- What Makes Velo Coffee Speciality?
- More Than Just The Coffee
- Bringing Speciality Coffee to More Businesses Across Ireland
Liquidline and Velo have been working side by side since 2023, bringing together two areas of expertise to create something particularly exciting for businesses across Ireland: speciality coffee, supported by the equipment, service and knowledge to make the most of it.
Now, we’re taking that collaboration a step further.
Velo is a leading Irish speciality coffee roaster with an established reputation among coffee drinkers across the country. By bringing selected Velo coffees into the Liquidline range, we’re combining their approach to sourcing and roasting with our experience in commercial coffee equipment, installation, servicing and ongoing support.
The result? A more complete premium local coffee solution.
What Makes Velo Coffee Speciality?
Speciality coffee is about more than simply choosing a different bean.
To be classified as speciality coffee, beans must score 80 points or higher out of 100 under the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) scoring system. The coffee is assessed through a process known as cupping, carried out by certified coffee professionals known as Q Graders.
It’s a way of evaluating coffee based on factors including flavour, aroma, acidity, body and overall quality.
The coffees we’re bringing into the Liquidline range all meet that speciality threshold, with scores of 84 and above.
But numbers only tell part of the story. The real difference comes through in the cup.[LR3.1][HP3.2]
Meet Cadence
Cadence brings together two speciality coffees with an equal 50:50 combination of Colombian and Brazilian beans.
The Brazilian component comes from Eagle Monte Carmelo, a naturally processed coffee from the Cerrado Mineiro region. It brings tasting notes of rich chocolate, dried fruit, sugar cane and nuts to the blend, with a sweet character and long-lasting finish.
The Colombian component is Dulima from Huila, a washed coffee with notes of milk chocolate, caramel, biscuit and redcurrant.
Together, they create a balanced, approachable coffee with plenty of depth, making Cadence a versatile choice for businesses looking to offer a premium coffee experience across a range of drinks.
SCA scores: Brazil 84/100 | Colombia 84-85/100
Meet Climb
Climb is a single origin blend, made using coffee from Finca Las Mercedes.
This washed coffee scores 84/100 and offers a balanced profile of milk chocolate, almond and orange.
The beans are held in fermentation tanks for around 12 hours before being sun-dried on clay patios for more than 14 days. This process helps develop the coffee’s rich body and clean cup.
As a single origin coffee, Climb offers a different experience to Cadence, allowing the character of the El Salvador coffee to come through more distinctly.
It’s a great option for businesses that want to bring a little more speciality coffee character to their offering, whether that’s through bean to cup or traditional espresso equipment.
More Than Just The Coffee
Great coffee deserves the right equipment behind it.
That’s where the Liquidline side of the partnership comes in.
For us, introducing Velo isn’t simply about adding two new coffees to our range. It’s about bringing together premium coffee, commercial equipment and the support needed to deliver a consistent experience day after day.
From choosing the right machine for your environment to installation, training, servicing and ongoing technical support, our teams are there throughout the journey.
That means businesses don’t have to piece together their coffee solution from different suppliers. The coffee, equipment and support can work together as one solution.
And that’s particularly important when you’re serving coffee at scale.
A speciality coffee deserves equipment that’s capable of extracting it properly. It also needs regular maintenance, the right settings and people who understand how to get the best from the setup.
Bringing Speciality Coffee to More Businesses Across Ireland
Velo already has strong recognition in the Irish market, and we’re excited to build on that.
By combining Velo’s speciality coffee expertise with Liquidline’s commercial coffee equipment and nationwide service and support, we’re able to offer Irish businesses something that goes beyond the coffee itself.
It’s a partnership built around a simple idea: the best coffee experience comes from getting every part of the solution right.
Whether you’re looking to upgrade the coffee served to customers, improve your employee offering or create a more premium hospitality experience, Cadence and Climb give you two speciality options to explore, backed by the equipment and expertise to bring them to life.
Velo brings the speciality coffee. Liquidline brings everything around it. Together, we’re raising the bar for commercial coffee in Ireland.
“From our early dealings with Velo, our shared values have been very apparent. We’re delighted to now officially launch our partnership, with a shared Liquidline showroom at Velo’s roasting facility in Cork, alongside some incredible speciality coffees, exclusively available through Liquidline, being added to our range.”
